Now I’m pissed that they didn’t take the opportunity to make Hermione a POC. I can remember being a kid and seeing her as mixed, but then the movies came out. I, of course, resorted to thinking of her as Emma Watson. I knew it was too good to be true. I have no doubt in my mind that Jo probably imagined her as white, but her description is open for interpretation. Although, I don’t even want to know how the fandom would have reacted to black or brown Hermione. Actually, I do know how they would react. They would have shown their asses, per usual.
